GLB / glTF viewer, in the browser

Drop a .glb, or a .gltf with the folder it came in. Compressed geometry opens as it is, the clips inside play by name, and the file never leaves your device.

How to open a GLB or a glTF

  1. Drop the .glb on the page. For a .gltf, drop the whole folder, or select the .gltf with its .bin and its images together; the page matches them by name and says which one is missing if one is.
  2. Orbit with the mouse, zoom with the wheel. Toggle the grid, the axes and the wireframe, and open the mesh list to hide or show a part.
  3. If the file carries clips, pick one from the list to play it, from quarter to double speed. Take a screenshot on the scene, a transparent or a green background.

What opens, and how it looks

Models from asset stores usually compress their geometry with Draco or meshopt; both decoders are fetched on demand, so those files open like any other. A model with animation lists every clip by name and plays it on its own skeleton, as authored; nothing is retargeted here.

Older downloads describe materials as specular-glossiness, which current glTF loaders no longer read. The viewer applies the diffuse texture and the normal map and reads glossiness as an approximate roughness, so the colours are right and the reflections are an estimate. Textures compressed as KTX2 are not decoded yet: the model opens, those textures stay blank.

Questions

It says a .bin is missing.

A .gltf is the text half of a model; the vertices sit in a .bin beside it and the textures in a folder next to that. Drop the folder, or select the files together. A .glb is the same model in one file and needs nothing else.

Does it play the animations in the file?

Yes. Every clip in the file is listed by name; pick one to play it at quarter to double speed. Clips run on the model's own skeleton, exactly as they were made.

Is the file uploaded?

No. The browser reads it from your disk and draws it with WebGL. The only network requests are for the page's code and, when a file needs it, the Draco decoder; after that you can go offline.

What about FBX, OBJ or a zip?

FBX and OBJ have viewers of their own on this site. A zip from an asset store should be unpacked first, then the folder dropped here.

Can this model become a VTuber avatar?

If it has a humanoid skeleton, yes: the GLB to VRM converter maps the bones onto the VRM humanoid and converts the materials. A static mesh has to be rigged first.

This model as a VRM

A rigged GLB or glTF becomes a VRM on the converter next door: bones mapped to the VRM humanoid, materials converted, ready for VSeeFace, Warudo and VNyan. Already a VRM? The VRM viewer shows its expressions, its licence and its spring bones.
