What we keep, and for how long

Last updated: November 2, 2026

1. No accounts

Shapeweld has no sign-up and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, e-mail or any profile. The one thing that ties your conversions to your browser is a random id in a cookie, set on your first upload; it holds no personal data and only lets your browser fetch the results of its own jobs.

2. The viewers

The viewers and the poser run entirely in your browser. A file you open there is never sent to us. You can disconnect from the network after the page has loaded and keep working.

3. The converters

A converter uploads the file you drop to our server in New York, USA, converts it there, and keeps the upload and the result so you can preview and download them. Both are deleted 3 days after the conversion, whether you downloaded the result or not. Nothing is sent to any third party; the conversion runs on our own machine.

We keep a record of each job (its kind, size, the time it ran, the error code when it failed, and a report about the model's rig and materials) to fix what goes wrong and to see which tools are used. That record holds no file and no personal data.

4. Server logs and analytics

Our web server logs requests (address, path, time, browser) for a short time to keep the service running and to block abuse. The number of conversions a network address may start per hour and per day is limited; that counter lives in memory for a day at most.

We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views and tool runs. It is told which page and which tool, not who you are, and it sets no cross-site identifier.

5. Cookies

One cookie, sw_owner, a random id that marks your browser as the owner of its conversions. It expires after a year and can be cleared at any time; clearing it only means earlier results are no longer reachable from that browser.

6. Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about a job and have it deleted sooner than 3 days: write to support@shapeweld.com with the job id shown on the result page. If you are in the EU or the UK, the rights of the GDPR apply, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The service is not aimed at children under 16, and we knowingly collect nothing from them.

8. Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
