GLB / glTF to VRM converter: from the web to VTubing
Drop a rigged .glb, or a .gltf zipped with its folder. The humanoid bones are mapped, the materials converted, and the VRM shown in 3D before you take it. A saved Ready Player Me avatar converts the same way.
What comes across, and what cannot
Comes across
- · The humanoid skeleton and skin weights
- · Materials and textures, packed in the GLB or beside the glTF
- · Shape keys as expressions; ARKit-named shapes (Ready Player Me, many generators) wired to the standard ones
- · Draco and meshopt compressed geometry, unpacked on the way
Does not
- · Animation clips: the rig arrives in its bind pose
- · Spring bones: add them in a VRM editor
- · Models with no skeleton: rig them first
How to convert GLB to VRM
- Drop the .glb, or a zip of the .gltf with its .bin and images. Up to 100 MB.
- The converter maps the bones, converts the materials and writes a VRM on our server; the page names a bone it cannot find.
- Preview the result in 3D, test the expressions, download the .vrm. Both files are deleted 3 days later.
Ready Player Me and the generators
A Ready Player Me avatar saved as GLB carries a Mixamo-style skeleton and ARKit shape keys, and converts with its face working. Rigged exports from Meshy, Tripo and similar generators convert too; their plain downloads have no skeleton and are refused with the rig steps.
What GLB files share is packaging: the images are inside, so nothing is lost on the way to the upload, which is the usual failure with FBX.
glTF with a folder
A .gltf is text that names a .bin and a texture folder. Zip the folder as it was downloaded and drop the zip; the converter finds the .gltf inside and binds the images by name.
Questions
Can I convert my Ready Player Me avatar?
Yes. Save it as GLB from the RPM editor and drop it here; the skeleton and the ARKit shapes map cleanly.
Will the expressions work?
When the file has shape keys, yes. ARKit and VRoid names are wired to the VRM presets; other names become expressions under their own names.
My model is a .gltf with a textures folder.
Zip the folder and drop the zip.
I have an FBX, not a GLB.
Same converter, its own page: the FBX to VRM converter.
My generated model has no skeleton.
Rig it first, on Mixamo or in the generator's own rig step, and drop the rigged export.
What happens to my file?
Uploaded to our server, converted, kept 3 days for the preview and the download, then deleted.
Look before you convert
The GLB viewer opens the file in your browser and shows whether it has a skeleton and clips; the VRM viewer shows the result with its expressions.
